Vision Statement

A vision statement for a community garden describes the long-term, ideal impact the garden will have on the community and the environment. While a mission statement focuses on daily actions, a vision statement is an aspirational north star that unifies participants and sets priorities.

  • Ensuring the space is welcoming to all ages, abilities and backgrounds. A place where people of all abilities will build friendships and promote health, well-being, and sustainability.

An area for mindfulness and contemplation.

  • A garden where everyone connects and inspires one another to grow food for the local community cafe, building a food-secure future for everyone.

  • Serving as a living lab or outdoor classroom for gardening and environmental skills. Expanding our nutritional awareness and teaching children how food is grown.

  • Using eco friendly and chemical free practices, protecting biodiversity, introducing a pond and mini orchard and thereby reducing carbon footprints.

Our Vision

is that the garden will be a welcoming outdoor community place where the focus is on people, sustainable eco friendly gardening, learning, teaching and healthy food choices.

Our Values

are to be honest, inclusive, innovative, enthusiastic, and fair.

We need you!

We’re at the very beginning of something special and the people who join now will help shape it from the ground up.

This won’t just become a garden.

It will be a place for community, food, biodiversity, learning, friendship, and connection in West Wicklow.

Whether you can give an hour, a skill, an idea, or simply encouragement, you can play a real part in creating something lasting for generations to come.

If this is your kind of thing, we’d love to hear from you.
